Vaulting Verity
Well what a smashing day. Pal Helen arrived early to pick me up and we drove over to Pal Verity's for a walk along the Moor to Addingham. Verity's daughter Grace joined us and there was much talk about families and events, the Paralympics, Michael Moseley, Theatre and Movies and Sherwood and the Archers amongst many others I cannot recall. I took my camera out for a blip and the drizzle promptly began and the cloud came down, but we were not downhearted as there was still much more to discuss: Thailand islands; sulky teenagers; shopping at the Trafford Centre; half term holidays; ballet lessons; the loss of cashier tills at supermarkets......
We reached Addingham and opted to try lunch in the Swan, a good choice. And we emerged to blue skies and sunshine for our final leg back to Verity's. As we left the river behind Verity asked if we were all okay to climb a gate and that brought us on to the subject of youthful exploits which include gate vaulting. Young Grace had no idea what this meant so Mum obliged, showing that you can't take the PE teacher out of the retired woman!
Back home after an enjoyable day, I changed and went out for a Hobble with A, S and R!
