People as all at sea Day 7
We didn’t wake till 7.45 so it’s just as well we were at sea all day. We had breakfast with Lisa and John (Chicago) then there was a talk by Ian the historian about various attempts to reach the North Pole. I mentioned to him after about Laurie our leader on our 2010 Antarctica trip who had been part of the Canadian-Russian walk over the pole from Russia to Canada so he said he’d look into it. I’m disappointed that Quark doesn’t have a record of it as it’s even written up on Wikipedia.
Next it was time to learn how to put photos on to the quark site as well get an email about 6 weeks after we get home with the pix on it. I put on 2 - one of Lana with the ship in the background and the other of 2 icebergs framing cliffs and glaciers. In the library I met Denise a Sociology teacher just retired from Southampton. Her son does book podcasts.
Lunch was with Karen and Mark from Melbourne, minus their “not racist but” compatriots. We didn’t go to learn towel
Origami as we’d had so little time to read our books - the time advanced an hour in the morning and another in the afternoon.
Dinner with Joan and Gus (world wildlife work) from near Toronto.
The blip is a collage of people we met and some of the crew.
