Hardwood Floor

After Panto read through yesterday, it’s back to Blackadder rehearsals tonight. As there is something on in the theatre we’re out at the Scout Hut about a mile away. It’s a pretty unprepossessing concrete block of a building, but I was struck by what a superb looking parquet floor we were standing on.
Not a perfect, glossy, showroom finish but the sort of patina that comes from years of footfall.
It was a good rehearsal and we had a bit of time at the end so did a speed run of the lines to finish off. Which rapidly descended into farce as - for reasons unexplained - we all lapsed into broad Yorkshire accents. It certainly put a different twist on the scenes, especially those set in the royal palace!
Next rehearsal is on Wednesday so I have the rare luxury of a night in tomorrow.
