Living my dream

These toetoes are planted next to the dam on a friend's property, where we walked this afternoon.

The second half of the walk turned into a route march as dark rain- and hail-laden clouds bore down on us from the south. We reached home well in time to avoid a soaking.

And I was delighted to get the main lawn mown before the walk, and therefore before the rain. And without hurting myself.

I have developed a technique which protects my back for removing and emptying the grass catcher. It means I can confidently continue to mow through spring and summer without needing to get somebody to do it for me. Happy days.

I have spent quite a bit of the afternoon lying on the window-seat and reading my latest library book: The Cracked Mirror by Chris Brookmyre, which is thoroughly enjoyable.
