One of the best views of Edinburgh and its surroundings is from the Salisbury Crags in Holyrood Park.  Immediately below the Crags is a footpath (The Radical Road) which has been a favourite for walkers and climbers and of importance to geologists,  The path was closed exactly six years ago on 11th September 2018 due to safety concerns from rockfalls and despite calls for it to be reopened  it remains blocked by fencing.  This is the view from beside Queens Drive near St Leonards looking towards the Old Town in the distance on a day with sunshine and blue sky at last.
