Monday Night Football

Boyz II Men (on the field, just about under the guy’s cap) sings the national anthem at the opening of the National Football League season at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. I am there to see my grandson play for the NY Jets against the San Francisco 49ers! My first NFL game! my first time seeing him play for the Jets! possibly my first time in such a massive crowd (the stadium holds 68,000 people, more than the population of our town). There are fireworks and a flyover. It is overwhelming. As you may intuit from the angle of this photo, we are up pretty high—thank goodness for escalators and handrails!  I won’t even attempt to tell you anything about the game itself except that unfortunately the Jets lost, but it was a treat to be there with a whole lot of other family and see a little bit about what my grandson’s life is like.

The Extra is a shot of me and the boy, taken by a friend. I am so happy he is able to realize his dream.  And then we have the fireworks!
