Strictly Scarecrows

"Strictly Scarecrows" was the title of an event at RHS Wisley this evening. Surrey WIs had been given the challenge of making a scarecrow on the Strictly theme and the imaginative interpretations were very clever. Not all stuck to the dancing theme, but there were several Bruce Fortsyths and three Ann Widecombes! There were many amusing interpretations of the theme. There are more than 100 scarecrows hiding in the flower beds at Wisley and they will be there for a few weeks and are well worth a visit.

Wisley was open for the evening, it was clear and warm, there was a barbecue, a band and a choir and hundreds of visitors enjoyed the evening.

This scarecrow is called Flavia Baggia. Her dress is made of strips of plastic supermarket bags knitted and crocheted into a rainbow of colours. There are bottle tops hung around the hem of the dress.
