Gruinard Bay and the arrival of the Foxes
The weather has put on another excellent show today, ranging from brilliant sunshine to complete downpour. Sometimes we have two extremes at once. We sent some evidence of this to our family this afternoon in a video of rain pelting down on the window to the west of the cottage and glorious blue sky and sunshine through the clear kitchen window facing east. I love the combination of strong sunshine and dark clouds, as blipped.
This morning Mr hazelh and I visited the weekly market at Poolewe village hall. Here Mr hazelh stocked up on supplies of local beer, and then we sat down for tea/coffee in the pop up café that raises money for the local hospice.
Then it was 'home' again to prepare for the arrival of the Foxes. It's Mr Fox's 60th birthday today so we decorated the cottage accordingly and made him wear a birthday crown (extra).
Now that our friends are here with us, we are in party mode. This means lots of feasting, chatting, and games. The Foxes introduced us to the Llama card game this evening. This turns out to be lots of fun (and suitable for children from about 7 upwards, should any grandparents be reading this). Our day ended with a win at Catan for Clarissa.
Exercise today: none really.
