Gruinard Bay: now and then

Here is Gruinard Bay, blipped this afternoon with photos for comparison from 1967 starring my middle sister and Baby Ted (mainly), myself, and Mummy hazelh. (Can you spot the photobomber in today's shot?)

We were both surprised and delighted with the beautiful weather today. This encouraged us out of the cottage for two expeditions. The first was this morning for a walk in Laide wood, as featured in one of the extras. Mr hazelh's Merlin app tells us that we heard (and in some cases saw) the following birds:

Buzzard
Chiffchaff
Coal tit
Crossbill
Dunnock
Goldcrest (many)
Long-tailed tit
Redpoll: common
Redpoll: lesser
Robin
Siskin
Wren

After lunch back at the cottage, we ventured out for an afternoon on the beach at Mellon Udrigle. The photograph of the beach in the extras is rather deceptive. It looks tropical, but it was actually rather chilly.

We are both over the worst of our colds and looking forward to the arrival of the Foxes tomorrow.

Exercise today: walking (10,269 steps).
