Birds
I looked out of the window this morning, and saw about a dozen thrush around the pond - bathing, chatting, generally socialising! Shortly afterwards they were joined by at least two dozen starlings. The brown heads of many of these show they are juveniles moulting for their first winter.
In addition, our local housemartins were making swoops across the pond - there's a very blurry impression of one in the picture, I've picked it up in the thumbnail.
Later, it rained, and I spent several hours sorting a large basket of clean washing.
In the evening I went to the first meeting of a new flute group getting underway - very enjoyable it was.
