Plugged in

At some point in the last few days, PY received an email from Octopus Energy that predicted there would be excess electricity capacity this afternoon between 1 pm and 2 pm and that any usage above our 'average for the time of day' would be free. So, I put on a wash, a dishwasher cycle, boiled a kettle for a pot of tea rather than a cup, hoovered a couple of rooms and found anything in the house that needed charging and plugged it in: even things we've not used for years. Let's hope we understood the message correctly, although I am not sure a lot wouldn't have been pulled in if the offer did not exist. As we have no idea what our 'average' is, I wonder if I even pushed consumption over the required threshold.
