Wrong choice

I should have observed the clouds a bit more carefully before setting off for a walk with Bertie this morning. The sun was shining beautifully but I didn’t see the black clouds to the north until it was too late. Leaving the car at the start of our walk I considered driving on to a more sheltered destination but I was attracted by the white tops to the waves and the very dark clouds in the distance, thinking that they would make a dramatic blip. When we turned a corner it became obvious that the rain wasn’t far away and that the sea which had attracted me was now obscured by the next shower being quickly blown in our direction. I persuaded Bertie that it was time to head back to the car but I had left it too late. Not only did we get a thorough soaking, we were also battered by the cold northerly wind and the hailstones it brought with it!
When we arrived home, Nick had very thoughtfully lit the log burner for us - the first time in about three months or more.  I was very grateful.

My blip is of the aftermath of the shower.
