The horseshoe door
Barmouth backblip 6
We decided on a trip to Machynlleth and Aberystwyth today, and had hoped to go by train, but on consulting the timetable the timings would have been too problematic. So it was a car journey.
We parked just outside the centre of Machynlleth and walked in, passing the horseshoe door on an old Smithy on the way. We strolled along the main streets, and found the café where we had lunch some 15 or 16 years ago. This time we had coffee there, sitting outside in the morning sun watching the world go by. Glorious!
On to Aberystwyth, where we spent a pleasant afternoon walking all around the town and by the sea. It was marred slightly by side effects of the new meds flaring up again but, hey ho, a relatively minor inconvenience I suppose. Rather than indulging in yet another evening meal in a restaurant, we called into M&S on the way back to the car, and left with a bag full of goodies for a picnic, which we ate later on a bench with a view. 'Twas a veritable feast!
Extra is Aberystwyth harbour.
