The river Frome flowing by the Felt Cafe garden

I decided to get our car washed and valeted, for the first time in ages, and drove to a roadside facility in Brimscombe. The friendly team of car washers quoted a reasonable price and said it would take them about three-quarters of an hour, so I went for a walk. I knew the Felt Cafe was not far away and when I arrived I thought a cup of tea by the river would be a good way to spend my time.

The river Frome flows beside the cafe, which is situated in outbuilding of an old mill which originally used the water for its power source. Sitting in the garden was very peaceful as the cafe was nearly empty it being approaching closing time.

Sitting on the bench by the river prompted thoughts and memories, including Bob Dylan's song 'Watching the river flow', which he recorded in March 1971. Leon Russell assembled a backing group for him that included Carl Radle on bass, Jesse Ed Davis on guitar, and Jim Keltner on drums.
