Beans

I love the smell of coffee beans. We go through a fair amount of beans as all our coffee comes from our machine and it seems to need filling up all the time. We have always bought the beans from John Watt & Son, the coffee roasters and tea blenders in Carlisle, first established in 1865 and still going strong. The smell of beans roasting is well-known in the city.

I used to go to the shop to buy beans but now we order online and a big box is delivered to the door. The beans are in kilo bags and I decant them into more manageable 250g packs. That’s what I was doing this morning and it’s a job I love because of the coffee aroma.
