A Rare Sunset

I have to say, both the beginning and end of this day were quite colourful.  This morning I was already in the study, working when a double rainbow appeared just after sunrise, through the window.  I don't remember seeing a rainbow so early in the day before, but other than an iPhone shot, I wasn't able to take advantage of the scene.

L had gone out to badminton when I noticed the colour of the sky this evening.  I just had time to get out into the countryside for this image and a few others.  At another time I would have tried to photograph the four red deer stags that were in the pasture to the right of this scene.  I don't know who was more surprised as they were only about 30 metres from me when I walked into the field.  They quickly headed off but then stopped at a safe distance and watched me while I was taking photographs.  As soon as I finished and walked away they headed back, so I assume the remnants of the crop in this filed were attractive to them.
