Richmond, Virginia

Today we drove from Cape Charles to Richmond, Virginia - stopping at the Jamestown Settlement (1607) along the way. Yet another stifling hot day but Jamestown was interesting. We stopped at the VMFA before the B & B (just up the street). Lots of lovely things inside but I thought this sculpture and area just outside was quite charming. To the right just off the image is a waterfall. In the evening we went to see the Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball game (AA). It was kind of fun but it was mostly for Edward. He's a baseball nut and a squirrel nut so this was a bit of a pilgrimage for him. He had a good time. The Squirrels beat the Bowie Baysox 6-3.
