Encountering history
Today I went to the town of Comber, four miles from my village, and visited St Mary's Parish and also the Non Subscribing Presbyterian Church. In both places there are numerious reminders of the Andrews family which dominate the town. In the Non Subscribing Presbyterian Church are memorials and headstones to several of the Andrews family, including Thomas Andrews, the designer of Titanic, who lost his life on that fateful day. My photograph depicts the Andrews Mausoleum in St Mary's Parish indicating the wealth and status of the family.
