The universe has
blessed me today with big horn
sheep on the hillside

I slept in this morning until after 7:30. It's a grey morning so the light did not stir me today. I was in a mad scramble to get out the door before Trevor arrived to block my garage door with his pickup. He would be coming in the front door at 8. I was on my way with about 10 minutes to spare. 

I'd planned to drive out to Tranquille so I took the winding road below my hillside. There, not 2 miles from my house, were a little band of big horn sheep. They were munching their way along the hillside and below. I had to wait for them to raise their heads as they were so intent on the dried grasses. The yellow blooms on the sagebrush looked lovely beside them. I watched and snapped my photos until they decided it was time to go. They trailed along the hillside and started climbing over the ridge and out of sight. 

I picked up the groceries that I forgot yesterday and my drive-thru breakfast, then headed for home. 

I'm hoping my brother will arrive from the coast sometime this afternoon. There will be a pot of beef stew waiting for him.
