Now, as I see it......

Cyclamen

I'm not at all superstitious but I have to say that things do seem to go wrong on Friday 13th, so I was ready for it.  I had ordered a supermarket shop delivery; something I've only ever done during the pandemic lockdowns because I prefer to select things myself, but as the supermarket is 15 miles away I thought I'd give it a go.  I was all prepared for substitutions being wrong, things missing, not turning up on time, but it all went perfectly.  I might even do it again.

The weather was good for gardening.  I did a lot more pruning and cutting back, while W worked on the front garden, removing slug-eaten hostas and preparing space for new plants we've ordered.  Everything went well, and the bare earth looks better than the rather moth-eaten plants that were there before.  These cyclamen were looking good together; they will be going into the space where I removed the lavender yesterday, at least until the Spring, when we may put something else there.

The final thing to do was to cut the low pine hedge around the front garden.  We wanted to lower it a bit, so I used my electric hedge trimmer which quickly sliced through the top and tidied up the sides.  When finished, I spotted one bit I had missed, and headed over to trim it.

I sliced clean through the electric cable to the trimmer.  Friday 13th.
