Yorkshire Dales of the Pyrenees
I picked a north-east loop today, with a couple of hills, quiet roads and a distinctly chilly air! I set off after swapping to a lighter top but went back for it a few hundred yards up the road and I was glad of three layers for much of the ride.
The foothills feel very much like the Dales with an overlay of French buildings and a mountain backdrop. I barely saw another cyclist and thoroughly enjoyed these lesser travelled roads. After all the rain, everywhere was vibrant and I think I’ve fallen in love with this area already.
I’m looking forward to a bit more warmth over the next couple of days although I did sit outside the van when I got back, sheltered from the cool breeze and toasting in shorts and a sun top.
