Huntsman's Tombstone

Seen in the floor of Blanchland's Abbey. Amazing to think that in the 1400s, the monks had their own pack of hounds and their own huntsmen!  This was one of them, his tombstone showing a sword, a bow and arrow and a hunting horn.
Blanchland was very interesting. It's all owned by the same family, everywhere is rented from Lord Crewe. It's got some lovely old buildings, medieval onwards, and a very nice craft shop too!
