So near and yet so far
Leo has taken up bird watching, much to my annoyance since he sits on my table and objects ferociously if I try to move him.
Popped into the gallery in Dunblane museum to check on my exhibition this morning and someone suggests we should try morning coffee across the road in the cathedral hall (“free with biscuits for a small donation”). So, we do.
Suddenly find ourselves in a small room with less than a dozen people headed by the Very Rev Colin Renwick, Minister of Dunblane cathedral.
We are startled. This is not what we were expecting and try to make a hasty retreat only to be greeted by lots of arms waving us into the fold.
Nothing for it but to join them feeling acutely embarrassed as two agnostics among this select group of believers.
What to talk about? “How is God today? No that wouldn’t do. “
Fortunately we happen to know the person who runs their Arts Guild .
Music saves the day. Phew!
