Lovely, Cool Day

A dramatic shift in the weather from the damp murk of the past few days. Sunny, clear and dry today...and cool! 48F/9C this morning with a high of 72F this afternoon. 

I had a mammogram early this morning, then skedaddled home to do a myriad of things before my guest arrives this evening. I made zucchini bread - 2 loaves...delish! And a rustic peach and blueberry galette (tart) for dessert tonight. My friend says she eats baked goods for breakfast, hence the zucchini bread (with whipped cream cheese...I might even forego my usual egg!). Cleaned the house, planted lettuce in my raised bed, cleaned up the courtyard (she's a passionate gardener, not that she'd care about a messy courtyard). And now I'm pooped! 

When I went for a walk this morning I saw this lovely white zinnia - blip!!
