Journey To Stonehaven
For lunch of Fish and Chips.
Pat R and my Pat are fully recovered from their state of ‘conviviality’. After a hearty breakfast we head off on our journey up the East Coast of Scotland to Stonehaven.
The Tay Road Bridge is now fully open following the completion of the roadways.
The weather on our travels varies, as we journey to Arbroath, Johnshaven, Gourdon, Inverbervie and Montrose, we stop walk around each town. I take many pghotographs.
Pat R has never been on this route and is surprised at the number of offshore wind farms visible from land.
We arrive at Stonehaven and enjoy our fish and chip lunches sitting in the open air enjoying the sea breeze.
Afterwards we explore the sculpture walk featuring many sculptures made from stainless steel and many with a sense of humour. I have added three extra photos.
On a more serious note the Norwegian seaplane sculpture is a tribute to Stein Gustavvson Abildso who landed in Stonehaven Bay in April 1940 escaping war with Germany.
We then return back home via the more direct route along the A90.
The main photo shows the beach at Stonehaven.
