National Finals

Our band qualified for the National Brass Band Championship Finals, being held at Cheltenham Racecourse, by winning the West of England Regional First Section contest back in April. 

Today we lined up with 18 other bands from around the UK, each of us playing a set-test-piece. The 17 minute long performances are judged by 3 adjudicators seated together in a curtained area so that they can't see who's playing. 

We were drawn number 4 in the order of play and the results will be announced close to midnight(!). I haven't got the staying power these days so departed early. I'll be keeping an eye our WhatsApp Group later this evening.

As we were earlier rehearsing close to Gloucester Docks, I took an opportunity to do a circuit in the Autumn sunshine, see extra.
