MYT Day 3: Yas!
Yas looks super happy here, chatting away on his hot pink phone in his neon orange sunnies. (Okay, the phone is Phoebe's, but I think Yas should invest in a pink phone cover because it matches his sunglasses.)
Impressively, we managed to get to the beach before lunch today. Only a few of us went at first, and we were dismayed to find that Oliver the octopus, so lovingly crafted, had lost most of his tentacles to the tide. Alex continued with hole he'd been digging yesterday, turning it into a moat for a sandcastle. Tiff, Julia and Phoebe also made a sandcastle, and although it was smaller, I have to say it was much more impressive. By the time they were done, most of the house had come down to the beach and a lot of them were helping Alex with his sandcastle. Despite the help, the girls' cast was still far, far cooler.
It was Joelan's birthday today, and so after lunch Tiff, Phoebe and I decided he needed to start celebrating. Tiff and Phoebe managed to make the pinkest drink in existence, imaginatively named the 22. It actually tasted okay, despite my impulsive decision to add campari which led to us making a lot of adjustments in flavour.
This evening was awesome - Henry and I baked some pretty amazing cookies, and then a group of us played kings (a lot of people had never played so we gladly initiated them). After the game we headed downstairs to cheer on the beer pong players, and then decided to play ourselves. Thanks to Axel, who taught me to play beer pong at Warwick, I actually managed to get a few good shots. We lost, but it was a good game.
I got some nice pictures at the beach, but for some reason this one stood out. Yas just looks so happy, and I love the pink phone and the orange sunnies combined with the bright sunshine and the beach vibe. It's a great candid photo!
