A day of two halves

At 9am I arrived at the College to help with the half-marathon. One of the local running clubs is organising this event every September. It is also part of the British Masters Class and therefore attracts runners from outwith the region. We had participants from Northern Ireland, Leeds, from all over Scotland etc. It was a fantastic event with around 260 runners. The fastest time was just about 70 minutes!!!!
During the marathon the sky was rather cloudy and grey with waves of mist and fine rain. Towards the end of the race the sun came out and it became rather warm. So the conditions for the runners were rather good.
After getting things tidied up again, we took Max to the beach at Southerness. The tide was really low so we had a wonderful walk on the beach in warm sunshine.
The day was rounded off with a delicious meal at the Chinese restaurant in Dalbeattie.
