Anatole's blips

Monimail tower

All that remains of the Bishop’s palace at Monimail is some walls and this curious old 16c tower (although its base is probably much older).

A narrow, tapering spiral stairway leads up to the 1st and 2nd floor rooms and up to the roof. The steps are worn and narrow and the rooms are wood panelled with fireplaces. Quite an interesting construction incorporating numerous bits of repurposed sculpted stone
