Visiting old haunts
Backblipped Monday 16th
A slow start to the morning but I was hugely relieved to realise I’d tidied the dining room up before I went to bed last night. I did have a hazy recollection of doing so but as I said yesterday, we had consumed rather more wine than was good for us.
I’d planned a light breakfast of Bircher oats and fresh berries with optional croissants and toast and it was all rather refreshing.
We decided that a trip into the High street for a wander would be a good way to spend the day and we headed off to the bus stop. When we got to town we decided to head down the hill towards Holyrood and realised that we could see North Berwick law in the distance. The weather was quite kind to us, not too blowy.
Enjoyed a lovely bowl of Cullen skink in a wee bar before walking round the water features outside the parliament buildings. We spotted some props which looked intriguing and discovered they’re filming for a new Frankenstein movie but we didn’t see any action!
Walked back up the Royal Mile and popped into the Jolly Judge for a small libation. Used to enjoy a dram or two here in the eighties.
Bus home again and a rather late dinner of prawn cocktail and beef stroganoff. We were much more sedate in our drinking tonight and I headed to bed before 11.
