Brocton Coppice in Mist

The forecast was for mist and fog first thing so I drove up onto Cannock Chase to an ancient woodland, which is also part of the Queen's Green Canopy created in 2022 for her platinum jubilee celebrations.  

Despite the wonderful ancient oaks that are spread over the area I decided on this image of some silver birch with a path running through the scene.  I'll add another of one of the oaks as an extra.  Frustratingly the mist rose into low cloud, rather than giving me the opportunity to capture any rays of sunlight coming through the canopy.

In the afternoon we visited L's brother in law who has just celebrated his 65th Birthday.  I liked his birthday present (an Audi A5 convertible)!
