Portavogie Harbour

Today I continued my project on the fishing industry, this time visiting Portavogie.  I found the same conditions as earlier in Kilkeel.  In the main image Filipino fishermen are mending nets.  They are very friendly and just chatted away to me for quite a while.  The extra photograph shows a fishery inspector checking nets to see if they are compliant with regulations, he did not engage in conversation!

It was a lovely bright warm day, I met an elderly woman and noted just how Scottish her accent sounded.  Reminding me of the kith and kin connections that bind us together, Port Patrick in Scotland is not far away and I could see the mainland on the horizon.
