Many happy returns...

Today was the start of the last home game for Surrey in the County Championship. To retain the title for a third consecutive year this is very much a must win match against Durham, as we travel to Essex for the final round next week, which will be a very tough test.

For the first time since the end of the 2022 season, Surrey included both  Sam (main shot) and Tom (extra 1) Curran in their Championship side, indeed this is only Tom's second red ball game since then.

Also returning to the Oval, for the first time since 2021, was Durham skipper Scott Borthwick (extra 2), who was a popular member of the Surrey team from 2017 until his return to original county. Sadly we won't get to see him play in this game as his season has been ended through injury
