Tetra-Pak printing - Pisa Door

This is the plate with which I created the print. It’s constructed from a tetra-pak container of tomato sauce.

By removing sections of the foil surface and then drawing lines with a sharp object you reveal the cardboard beneath, which in turn holds the ink. The ink is then selectively removed from the shiny foil surface - cleaning off most of it but leaving some to provide a gritty texture.

The colour was added to my image of the plate using Procreate last night.  The original is simply silver and black, but I wanted to see what I could make of the photo image I’d taken as a straight shot.
