The Dawning of the Day…..
…… after a cold night and heavy frost. It was a busy, noisy night throughout Marlborough. The wine industry was alerted to the prospect of below zero temperatures and thus frosts and damage to newly budding grape vines. Chardonnay is particularly vulnerable. Wind machines and helicopters were busy all night in the areas of vineyards until after 7.am. They were keeping the baby buds warm, well, as free from frost as possible to minimize damage. We look forward to frost-free nights from now on.
Today was my birthday. I am now 82 and in reasonable health. Most days I feel many years younger. In my view age is merely a number. I have had a great day with greetings and messages from family and friends in New Zealand and all around the world. Such is the spread of Blipfoto.com.. Thank you, everyone, for your good wishes. Arohanui. Kia kaha.
