Come on, keep going
A good day, and off to Utrecht on the train in sunshine, no raincoats today and a walk into the city along the canal. The neighbour here suggested leaving the train one stop before the central station, we did this and walked along a well used, pretty canal path into the city centre passing many people including those dressed for a funeral. They all looked very smart, each carrying a long slim wrapped flower.
Another outdoor market, the cheese counter always beckons, although nothing needed today. Later a less than interesting lunch, our first mediocre coffee, service and food. Sat there waiting I wondered where the old post was, the cathedral like building we called in to see a few days ago.
A few minutes later when looking around it was right behind us. Today there was time to look around inside, the main area was closed off in preparation (we think) the NL film festival. Fortunately an escalator enticed us up, up and up, an amazing place, including my main blip. An area to cycle and work. There are many stations for students to work in a quiet and light environment.
Back to the house via a train and then a rest before heading out for a 53rd wedding anniversary meal, the place was about a mile away, more steps on the app with a lovely girl looking after us at the bistro, she was very good and an enjoyable meal in the old village/town of Houten.
Extra show a strange looking colourful, building in the centre, a bread stall at the market and a view from inside the old post office looking down from the first floor.
