The bracken is turning...
It was really warm today, 23C and possibly the last really warm day of the year. It was a day of chores, washing bedding, ironing and grocery shopping, fitted around two walks for Xena. The bracken is noticeably turning now, it always looks so pretty at this stage before it all becomes dark and sodden during winter.
Tommy had his appointment with the German Embassy today and will be getting his visa shortly, in good time so that he can start in Munich as arranged on 1 November. With all the paperwork and processes he had to go through, there was a point where he thought he would not be able to start on the agreed date as his visa would not be granted in time - he had to make visa appointments and then cancel them as the paperwork had not been received. Thanks Brexit, this would be unnecessary if it was not for you!
I must now go and pack as we are going to Norfolk tomorrow morning, we were meant to go last weekend but decided to postpone our trip. It's a working weekend as Gavin has to put up shelving in the new cupboard on the landing after the bathroom alterations, and we left in such a rush last time that I did not have time to get all the bedding washed, so that is my chore this weekend. I prefer to wash it myself rather than use the laundry service.
Emily in Paris was the perfect medicine to relax me pre-bedtime so that I slept really well last night. Those outfits! Incredible and bizarre.
