Bugs Not Rife

Two true bugs today. My main is a hyaline grass bug catching the afternoon rays. These used to be regarded as rare vagrants to Britain but have become established here.

I've added a colourful Southern green shieldbug nymph to extras. Another recent arrival to the UK, native to Africa. Our common green shieldbug is no danger to crops but the Southern is fond of tomatoes and runner beans.

Very worrying how hard I've had to search for subjects on the ivy bush. It's nearly in full bloom, the weather has been sunny and mild for days and it should be covered in insects and bugs.
