Pictorial blethers

Where did it go?

Today has just sort of slithered past us. Not so quickly as to prevent me noticing how glorious the weather was again, from the moment I was hanging out of the bedroom window taking today's blip even before I'd drunk my morning tea to craning out of the same window to see the moonlight on the firth - nothing prevented me from doing that. But really, what have I done today?

There was the usual shopping before breakfast - someone at Morrison's seems to have made an effort to stock the empty shelves, I'm glad to say - during which I spent an unconscionable sum of cash. I phoned the surgery to say I thought I was allergic to the eye ointment I've been prescribed (it has lanolin in it) to be told that I was to pick up drops instead. (I went for them later; they sting like mad and seem to make my eye look worse than ever, so I'm not optimistic). I went straight from breakfast-coffee-Italian in the garden. I washed the inside of the odd window - all that sun fairly shows up the lack of same. I made up the spare bed for my friend Sarah's arrival this evening, and tidied away some of the stuff that tends to accumulate in the guest bedroom. I found I literally have no space for another book unless it's a tiny paperback.

We had lunch in the garden and both fell asleep. We managed a  very short walk round West Bay in the late afternoon - we were both so tired. Sarah arrived just before our dinner and we blethered as we ate (she'd already eaten - talk about undemanding guests!) The blethering continued till the Evening News, during which Himself and I both fell asleep, leaving our guest wondering which one of us would best respond to being poked ...

And now we're all off to bed. Cowal Open Studios begins tomorrow, with Sarah and my pal Paddy both exhibiting in Holy Trinity Church. Should be an absolutely glorious venue in this weather ...
