Autumnal

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was summer, today it’s autumn. It was 12° feeling like 7° as we gathered on the slip at 9am. I’m sure the water was warmer than that.

Despite the non appearance of the moon last night at the hour we were having our moonlight dip, three of us went into the sea anyway aided by one head torch and one illuminated  float. It was even more enjoyable than the last moonless swim as there were only the three of us.

It was such a miserably grey morning with a wetting cold mist that I didn’t venture out until after lunch when I was invited to pop in for a cuppa with a Selkie who lives in a house with a view and some lovely stained glass pictures……..oh and a husband and a very big greyhound.
Now when it’s too late, it’s almost sunny and the day looks infinitely cheerier

The lifeboat was hurtling back to base as I walked along the street. I’m not sure if it had been out training or answering a call for help.
