Comfort food

We’ve moved suddenly from a lovely late summer week to autumn. The haar has persisted all day. It rained in the morning. The temperature has dropped and the outlook is poor.

So autumn has arrived in the east coast and while we can hope for sunny autumnal days the warmth is dissipating.

So it was good to have in the fridge this (rather powerful smelling) Camembert. My sense of smell is poor at the best of times but this one made its presence felt.

Some honey, rosemary and thyme on the top and baked in the oven provided a lovely lunch, combined with garlic bread made from a French baguette in the freezer.

I took a day off from doing things and read a Thursday Murder Club book and dozed while waiting for the new tumble drier which never arrived!

Definitely comfort food needed.
