Waiting for God, oh...
The theme of our blip competion this week is Bench. Plenty of benches around, but this line of unoccupied ones in a Livingston cemetery caught my eye.
At the end of the day it's simply a line of benches gifted in memory of loved ones. Or you could choose to go overboard and interpret the emptiness of the benches as some allegory for life, death and loss. That's the way human minds work I suppose, especially after a hot day and a glass of wine.
Such thoughts were brought down to earth with a bump when I noticed that one of the occupants had died fairly young at 41. In this internet age and with a dose of morbid curiosity I found within a couple of clicks that this person had committed suicide while in prison with no real warning. Sad.
