Korean War Memorial
The new memorial has been completed and it was dedicated today with a service attended by veterans and their families and friends. More from BBC here. A few more from me here..
The old one was vandalised, so I hope this one is treated with a bit more respect. It was built using traditional Korean tiles and had the services of a Korean master who could speak no English and worked with an interpreter and local apprentices to get the job done.
A good turnout including Tam Dalyell, retired long standing MP for West Lothian and Linlithgow of the "West Lothian Question" fame.
It's a nice location in the Bathgate hills with a path leading up the hill behind with nice views over the local area and the mountains to the North.
I went for this view of the memorial with the Korean pine tree in the foreground.
