Delighted ... and disillusioned!

Despite sounding virtuous yesterday about my efforts to de-clutter the house, I confess I have made an exception for a much longed-for purchase, which arrived today.

My more musical followers will see from the simplicity of the music on the stand that I am an utter novice at playing the piano, but I can’t tell you what joy it gives me to be able to play simple tunes, nevertheless. And this fabulous new instrument will make my practice sessions all the more enjoyable compared to my very elderly portable keyboard which had fewer, non-weighted, keys.

And, if it wasn’t for the photo I’ve put in extras, I wouldn’t be talking about disillusionment. But, sad to relate, when I came downstairs this morning and checked my wildlife camera I discovered that, yes, I do have at least two hedgehogs visiting my garden, but one of them is a bully and pushes the other one away from the feeding station, leaving the poor creature cowering in the box hedge. All my illusions about these friendly creatures have been shattered!

But I’m still on cloud nine about the piano … ;-)
