Italy 15 - Eng/Scot 1

Spent the day at our campsite making good use of the facilities. 2 loads of washing between us, coffee at the cafe, a run for Wendy and I, the boys played tennis. And then a challenge from Danny, the Italian campsite owner - a free beer if we beat him and his wife at table football. So Ivan and I rose to challenge, only to receive a thorough grubbing. It didn’t stop us celebrating the one goal we scored, and having fun! Danny confessed there’s not much else to do in the winter!
In the evening we cycled down to a beach to a fish restaurant, and with the thought of a swim again. Sadly this patch of beach was littered with rubbish, mainly plastic bottles so we weren’t at all tempted in. The restaurant was empty and very uninviting so we ended up cycling back to the campsite for a scratch dinner.
Had a few text exchanges and chats with our son today - and that’s him off to New Zealand. Exciting new adventures for him - but a little apprehensive too.
