What I Have Learned…

… Is that once a poodle has the scent of a squirrel, he assumes the weight of a baby elephant and is apparently immovable.
Our town has an abundance of the varmints. Especially at this time of year.
So, our walks switch unexpectedly (with no notice whatsoever, for those with less of a finely tuned nose) between ‘stationary’ and ‘kangaroo on a lead’.
Also, it seems, the thing we really yearn to bring along with us is a big, spiky, old unopened horse chestnut. Ouch I imagine?
(My previous dog was not a poodle. It’s a steep learning curve!).

Being up nice and early for our canine visitor has brought the lovely benefit of getting loads of jobs done before most of the World is up and at it.

I know. We should get another dog…
