Càceres

Headed south for a couple of hours to arrive on the outskirts of Càcares. Very impressed to find the pitches come with a private bathroom!

After settling in, I caught an afternoon bus into the city and had a good nose around the old town including the pretty Jewish quarter with steep and narrow winding streets, this busy plaza and the old walls and entrances.

I had another bird moment when I arrived… what I thought was an azure magpie (another beautifully named bird) is indeed the identical (but not!) Iberian magpie. It was in the tree on my pitch waiting for me to get my camera out. On that basis, I’m ditching the idea of cycling tomorrow as I’m not feeling wheel vibes here and heading out on foot instead.

The temperatures are warming and I enjoyed eating my tea outside and relaxing until the sun went behind the trees.
