Spanish scrubland spectacular
I whiled away a fair few hours pootling up a long lane past olive trees and cork oak up onto this scrubland. Lots of bird life tweeting away but very hard to spot. I have managed a nice photo of a Sardinian warbler but having a camera was just a good excuse for sitting, listening and watching. There was plenty of little stuff as well from a beautiful swallowtail butterfly to ants carrying way too much stuff.
I chatted to two sets of Yorkshire folk (I heard them coming!) one pair lived in Manchester but were from Huddersfield and the others were from Leeds. The latter enjoyed their wildlife too and recommended a place they’d been to on their travels near Barcelona so I’ve noted that.
When I finally arrived back, I’ve had a chill with the azure magpies (proper name Iberian azure-winged magpies (I was pleased the word azure does actually crop up)) and a sort out and generally relaxed into van life.
