SIMPLE BEAUTY

This is a simple flower on a hosta stem - there must be at least 20-30 per stem, and each lasts only a day. Getting the entire blossom (the petals and the stamen) in focus seemed impossible. I liked this shot because the bright white in the center made it look lit up from the sun in the background. (When the stamen were clearer, the less-focused petals made a less attractive shot.) Today was hectic - no time to find a special blip. I've started many a day with shots of these hosta flowers to use as my 'backup blip' in the event nothing better turned up - decided I'd better feature it today.
