Port Adelaide
This morning we took the bus from Adelaide to Port Adelaide (40 minutes ride away) to the estuary of the Port River. Here Martin and I took a boat trip to see a ships graveyard and to look for dolphins. We were very excited to see at least six Bottlenose Dolphins swimming around the boat. Meanwhile Alison and Peter visited the interesting Maritime Museum. After lunch, we all went to the National Railway Museum, which was extremely good, full of lots of exhibits, including these two engines. The one in the foreground would have pulled freight trains while the early diesel engine behind would have hauled trains on the Trans Australian Railway between Port Augusta and Kalgoorlie (Tea and Sugar trains, we learned about yesterday at the National Library) .
This evening we had a good meal in an Italian restaurant in Adelaide, and packed our cases in readiness to move on tomorrow to New South Wales.
